A President's Welcome to our Colleagues
We are honoured to announce that our work carried out in London, Istanbul and Berlin could soon be replicated in Paris. The Fourth International Conference on the Science and Ethics of Assisted Reproduction and Stem Cell Research will be held in the National Academy of Medicine on 23-24 April 2009, in Paris. The wonderful climate of the Academy in Paris, together with the wonderful approach to the Champs Elysees's offer excellent opportunities to hold our conference there.
In the Conference, we will discuss several aspects of the social implications of new advances in stem cells, tissue repair and regeneration, together with other topics such as IVF, stem cells and the use of cord blood. Some other topics will be addressed at the meeting include moral and medical ethics, cord blood stem cells and regeneration in MRL mice. Trouble could arise concerning conflicts between religion and science, preimplantation genetic diagnosis, therapeutic cloning, the welfare of children, and egg donation. Care will be especially taken to ensure that science, public policy in secular societies and ethics of stem cell biology and therapeutic cloning will addressed.
We also look forward to the 'Fourth International Conference on the Science and Ethics of Assisted Human Reproduction and Stem Cell Research" and would be delighted to welcome you at the Academies of Science in London, Istanbul, Berlin and Paris.
Yours sincerely,
Professor R.G. Edwards
